5 Fabrics That Are Perfect For The Monsoon Wedding Season! (And Some That Are Not)

Chiffon / Georgette

Super-light and easy to carry! These 2 fabrics dry up very fast. Well, they don’t retain moisture in the first place so they would be good options for the monsoons. And they look so pretty! <3 (With a lining of course.)  

Silk

Avoid something like raw silk that can get spoiled easily. Opt for blended silk fabrics like crepe silk, tussar silk or cotton-silk.

Poly-Blends

Usually, this is a blend of cotton and polyester. They work great for modern, printed lehengas! They have the comfort and breathability of cotton plus they don’t retain moisture which works great for the monsoons.

Duchess Satin

Duchess satin is a luxurious fabric that’s much thicker than normal satin. It is lustrous and has an elegant, pearly shine that’s not as high as regular satin. Works great for bridal wear! The best part is it’s wrinkle-resistant.

Cotton

Now the bride of course, would want to wear something fancier than cotton, but this fabric works for light lehenga styles or for those who are attending a wedding!

What to avoid:

Avoid thick fabrics like velvet / suede. And we know you’re not going to wear a leather lehenga, but in case you feel like getting inspired from Sonam (view image below), it’s a good idea to even avoid leather jackets as leather retains moisture and starts rotting.
