Akash & Nikita Mumbai : Extravagant decor, fun-filled functions and interesting pictures- This wedding was one big Party!
About the couple
Nikita and Akash’s parents happened to connect with each other on Shaadicom. At that time, Nikita was working at Los Angeles and Akash was at Boston. On their visit to India, their parents decided to introduce them to each other as part of a quintessential arranged marriage meeting.
The moment they met each other, both of them felt a connection. They weren’t sure if they would end up marrying each other, but they did know something was right about them being together. They took the decision to get hitched because of how they felt with each other, the way they loved, cared and respected one another at all times.
The Proposal
“Akash proposed me and trust me it was the most romantic proposal. We flew to Colorado to celebrate Akash Birthday along with his friends. And there is this place in Aspen -Maroon Bells, which is known for its sunrise and has like the most beautiful scenery in the Rocky Mountains. And there he was sitting on his knees with the most touching proposal speech. Everyone around started clapping and it is one memory I will cherish for life.”
Wedding Planning
The wedding planning was a complete combined effort, involving their parents, siblings and vendors. A lot of research was put into how they wanted the entry for every function to be unique and interesting.
Since they were in the US and the wedding was to take place at Mumbai, coordinating became an issue owing to different time zones. They spent many weekends only sitting and planning the wedding festivities.
When it came to choosing vendors, the couple spoke to a lot of people for recommendations and also contacted vendors. Further, they filtered vendors based on their online portfolio and work.
The Wedding Festivities

The traditional haldi ceremony was combined with a chilled-out pool party. Family and friends of the bride and groom were seen having a gala time! The couple entry was unmissable- with everyone welcoming them with coloured smoke bombs.Nikita wore a yellow lehenga skirt with ruffles, paired with a colourful, quirky blouse. She teamed her ensemble with some stunning floral jewellery.
Wedding and Reception

The reception was a grand and opulent affair with. Nikita looked fabulous in a salmon pink suit, while Akash looked debonair in a black tuxedo. We loved the extravagant decor and the floral arrangements.
About the photographer
“When we first saw the pictures from ND, we very quickly realized that their work was much better than anything we’d seen before. We finalized them and just hoped that we’d get something even half as good as the other weddings! We weren’t disappointed at all – the shots we got back were insanely good!!
Nilesh and David are simply AMAZING! They really are more than photographers. From the beginning to the end they offered endless support and guidance. Their experience and professionalism shines through, allowing you to relax and have the best day of your life!”
