10+ Fresh & Offbeat Mehndi Outfits we spotted on Indian brides!

10+ Fresh & Offbeat Mehndi Outfits we spotted on Indian brides!

Mehendi is one pre-wedding ceremony where the air is filled with the faint aroma of fresh henna and the bride is all geared up for her ‘mehendi hai rachnewali’ moment. The mood of the moment is fun & festive with all the vibrant hues around!

If you are a bride-to-be who is not looking to wear the same old green ‘mehndi laga ke rakhna’ similar outfit, then you’re at the right place.

Here’s brining to you some brides who went out of their way and wore some really offbeat outfits for their mehndi function:

1. The colourful quirky mehndi outfit with a fishtail:

Avantika opted to wear a Manish Arora design that’s bound to give all you brides-to-be some major #MehendiWearInspo. Everything about the outfit clearly tells us why is Manish Arora rightly known as the ‘King Of Quirk’.

I think it’s equal parts quirky and equal parts kitschy, with a generous burst of colors on it. *it’s fab*

2. The bright and breezy mehndi outfit:

Speaking of something offbeat, I am in love with Archana Vijaya’s quirky mehndi lehenga Pia Pauro. She had a ‘Vanilla Sky’ themed Mehndi function with a ‘Bright and Breezy’ dress code and she sure looked stunning!

3. The co-ordinated top & pants:

Aastha Sharma looked stunning in a vibrant yellow co-ord by Nikhil Thampi with beautiful embroidery on it. It comprised of a one shoulder crop-top paired with flared pants, but what caught my attention was the sheer dupatta-ish silhouette on her back.

P.S. she wore it for her sangeet ceremony, but I say it totally sums up for a mehndi outfit as well.

3. The mid – length mehndi lehenga:

Shweta Tripathi’s mehndi outfit was literally one of a kind.  She wore a quirky red & yellow custom made mid length lehenga for her mehndi from Colors and Mirrors and looked her charming self ! These mid-length ‘cropped’ lehengas are really trending for mehndi these days, check out these brides who also opted for it –

5. The one with the DDLJ feels:

This embellished lehenga skirt with an embellished top is giving me some major DDLJ feels. Isn’t  it? Well, with that satin green done to death, totally loving this addition of pink to it.

6. The gown that spoke volumes:

A voluminous grey gown with floral embroidery on it which is in sync with the butterfly roof and floral decor in the backdrop? I say ‘Yay’!

7. The ruffle love:

Totally digging this bride’s yellow lehenga paired with a floral embroidered bustier with noodle straps. The ruffles on her left sleeve is doing all the talking though.

8. The one with the huge flare:

With more and more brides wearing just green or yellow for their mehndi ceremony, I am all up for the ones bringing some different colour palette to it. Literally can’t take my eyes off this bride’s pop pink mehndi lehenga and it’s magnificent flare.

9. Breaking the traditions:

In the Punjabi custom, the bride-to-be usually dons shades of green for her mehndi ceremony, while the decor is mostly bright and vibrant. However, Sonam broke the tradition by opting to wear a beautiful pastel Anuradha Vakil sharara. Kudos to this fashion rebel, always giving us #DressingGoals

10. The pastel love:

If vibrant hues are not your thing, then you’ll def love this pastel lehengas. The vibrant yellow choli paired with a powder blue tulle lehenga skirt is definitely something.

11. The tribal lehenga:

How cool is this multi coloured tribal lehenga comprising of a blue blouse and pink lehenga skirt? What’s caught my attention is her stunning boho accessories – the bangles with latkans, the armlet, the choker and the matha patti with tassels. They are all one of a kind.

12. The fluorescent lehenga skirt with a flare –

Thinking of offbeat, this is one fluorescent green lehenga is sure a stunner. Totally loving the layered lehenga skirt paired with a blue embroidered blouse and pink dupatta.

P.S. That magnificent flare of the lehenga skirt is really something!

So, with our list coming to an end, I hope you’ve decided what are you going to wear for your, mehendi ceremony!
