Dry and dull hair is caused due to many factors, the main one being lack of moisture resulting in dry, dull, and frizzy hair. When you’re hair loses its sheen and lustre it is a warning sign for you to know that your hair needs urgent nourishment and that it is unhealthy.
As a bride-to-be, whether you are planning to tie your hair into a bun or a braid or simply let your tresses down, it is important that your hair look nourished and presentable. Amidst a packed schedule, wedding shopping and a whole lot of taam-jhaam, it is next to impossible for you to take out any extra time to take care of your hair.
Keeping this in mind I have curated 5 easy and hassle-free hacks for you, which could help completely transform your tresses:
1. Get a trim
Well, I don’t mean chop off 3-4 inches of your hair!
Get a slight trim to avoid split ends. You don’t want those extra unhealthy locks which weigh your hair down, do you? Also, ask your stylist tips on whether you need a new styling routine.
2. Don’t wash your hair every day
Yes, shampooing your hair is an excellent way of getting rid of all that dirt and sweat, but overusing shampoo could also damage your hair as it reduces the sebum levels in your hair. Sebum is a natural oil which helps in maintaining your hair and it is necessary to have the right amounts of it in your hair. It is best if you wash your hair 2-3 times a week.
3. Wrap your hair after a wash
Sometimes, it is possible that your hair could be losing a whole lot of moisture during the air-drying or blow-drying process. A better alternative is to wrap your hair in a towel and dry it instead. However, its best to not keep it wet for too long and going off to sleep while your hair is wet is a complete NO-NO.
4. Try cold showers
There is a possibility that the hot showers you are taking is scalding your hair. Cold showers help your hair to grow faster. It also helps revitalize your hair and make it feel fresh.
5. Use coconut oil
A natural emollient, coconut oil helps in smoothening your hair. It enhances the overall look of your hair and provides the necessary nourishment. All you need to do is take some oil (room temperature) in your palms and apply it on the crown and the strands. Apply it well, but don’t soak. Leave the coconut oil on for 20 minutes and then rinse.
Treat your tresses well, ladies!
