9 Things you Can Plan to Make the Most of this Lockdown

Though easier said than done, you can certainly make a difference this lockdown season if you choose productivity over sulking. As it is wedding preps demand a lot of time and attention and what better time than this to start planning your impending one?! If you come to think of it, with so many departments and aspects that go into making a marriage a memorable experience for all, you will be surprised to notice that perhaps the lockdown will near ending but not your prep! Besides, being better prepared is anyday a positive coping mechanism than feeling all the jitters- marriage, pandemic and the resultant uncertainty at once.

To help you with things you can start planning while quarantining, here are 9  departments/aspects we’ve listed down for you. Easy to do, this is all the dose you need to come out of your anxious-lethargic zone and get things moving. Take a look below:

1. Design your Wedding Card

With a range of templates and tutorials available online, use this time creatively to design your wedding card, e-invite or both. You can check out some of them here- Be Jalebi, Weddingcards Mascotte Designs , Kimya Gandhi Invitations

2. Learn to Make a Wedding Website (It is really simple!)

Trust me when I say, this is no rocket science. You don’t need to know any coding either. Just get yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate, charged laptop and a cosy corner to start using readily available wedding website templates online.

3. Practice Sangeet Steps

Put on your dancing shoes and get grooving to those sangeet moves. Practice + Workout = Best Deal! Also, COVID-19 had taught us that you can have a virtual sangeet too. So, get all your friends and family on a Zoom call or on Google Hangouts and shake that booty!

4. Think ‘Thank You’ Notes and Wedding Favours!

Now’s a great time to zero down on thoughtful wedding favours and thank you notes. In the aftermath of the pandemic, you can certainly think of a valuable (and economical) way of expressing gratitude 🙂

5. Look up Seasonal Dishes and Decor Ideas

If you find it difficult to come to terms with your new wedding date, all we can say is ‘accept’ and ‘embrace’. Think of the now new possibilities and things you can do differently. From looking up interesting seasonal dishes to incorporating new elements into your wedding decor, there’s much to do!

6. Research New Vendors or Follow-up with Old Ones

Put on your research and communication skills to test. Look up the best of vendors in your budget in every department. If you already have them on board, hit them up for updates or simply to say ‘hi’ (a bit of kindness in such times will go a long way)

7. Make a Party Playlist!

If you come to think of it, there’s so much you can do in every department of your wedding. Take the playlist only for starters, you can actually sit up and put together a rocking playlist for all your wedding functions!

8. Bond with your Partner 🙂

As you work meticulously and plan things out in the run-up to your big day, don’t forget one of the most fundamental things to do- bonding with your partner 🙂 Make sure you take out time to check on each other, express and share your thoughts and above all, let this distance bring out the best in both of you!

9. Plan your Honeymoon Destination!

While there is a lot of uncertainty with regards to uplifting travel bans and things getting back to normal, there is no harm in travelling to places in the landscape of your imagination. Besides, to be on the safe side, there are amazing places in the country itself to explore and take off too! Also, you can always plan ahead and travel later.

Folks, cheer up and get to work as you now know better what all there is to do! And remember to bookmark and keep this list handy 🙂
