Varun & Kanika Hua Hin : With an ocean as the backdrop and golden sandy beaches, this wedding was a treat to the eyes!

For their wedding, Varun and Kanika wanted a rather intimate affair with family and close friends only. They decided to invite approximately 100 guests. Thus, The Palayana Hua Hin, in Thailand, was an apt destination for their wedding affair.

The Wedding Festivities

Welcome Lunch

The wedding festivities kicked off with a welcome lunch for all the guests. The venue witnessed some chic decor elements like kaleeras, life-sized caricatures which served as a photo booth, and not to miss the extravagant blooms! 

Varun was seen dressed in a casual white t-shirt, while Kanika flaunted a powder-blue long blouse, paired with a skirt. 

Nautical-themed Pool Party

Thereafter, the couple had a super-fun pool party, which every millennial would be tempted to bookmark for their wedding! The Nautical-themed decor wowed us instantly. Signage boards with the couple’s caricature, white and blue blooms, inflatable tubes, etc, were some of the prominent decor elements. The venue was spacious and it made it perfectly possible to host some exciting games like giant Jenga and beer pong. Not to miss the live food stations serving a variety of delectable and lip-smacking items. 

Kanika wore an unconventional birch-coloured lehenga, with ruffled sleeves. She paired her outfit with pink, white and gold pearl jewellery. Varun looked sharp in a white shirt, blue trousers and an offbeat white blazer with multi-coloured, replete with abstract designs. 

Red Carpet-themed Sangeet 

Kanika looked gorgeous in a forest green floor-length gown. She paired her outfit with traditional jewellery and used baby breaths as her hair accessory. Varun kept it simple yet dapper with his black tux. 

This was an indoor function and the sangeet definitely witnessed a whole lot of razzmatazz. The guests were entertained by a host of professional dance performances by local artists, followed by dance performances by the couple and their respective families. 

Wedding 

The wedding decor was a treat to the eyes! The peach and ivory hues looked stunning. The mandap setting was on the golden beach of the resort, by the ocean. The mandap was minimalistic yet beautiful- white drapes bedecked with pastel-hued blooms. Large vases with bunches of blooms were also seen at the venue, adding more colour to the function. Who wouldn’t love an ethereal ceremony like this one?

Varun wore a Tarun Tahiliani outfit- a beige kurta and dhoti paired with a bandi, that was replete with golden embroidery. His mojris and necklace complimented the outfit perfectly. 

Kanika looked like a million bucks in her greyish-blue embellished lehenga with pink lotus motifs embroidered on it. Her fuschia dupatta matched the lotuses and added a good amount of contrast to the ensemble. Not to miss her stunning statement polki set and the ruffles on her blouse! 

Vintage-themed Reception 

The white and gold grand ball theme was perfect for the vintage-inspired reception dinner. The highlight of the function was fun and carnival-like vibe with performances by belly dancers, musicians, etc. Also, the floral cake looked too sumptuous to resist! The decor saw a large floral wreath on the stage and an extravagant couple hashtag.

Kanika was seen wearing a bottle and green shimmery dress, paired with traditional gold jewellery. Varun wore a black bandhgala blazer, with floral motifs on one side, paired with black trousers.
