A couple who ‘accidently’ fell in love with each other…
The very mention of an accident is ominous, right? But some accidents are meant to be and fortunately, they have great outcomes! This ‘happy accident’ holds true for our gorgeous couple – Ruchika and Vaibhav!
Ruchika and Vaibhav first met nine years ago when she was a first-year student and he was her senior, a third-year student pursuing B.Tech.
“We met through an accident. It was literally an accident and I had called him up for help. Thereafter, we started talking casually and one fine day, he proposed to me on the day of our freshers’ party. Since then we’ve been the best of friends! I’m so lucky to have married my best friend. He has always been so supportive in every situation,” says Ruchika.
The Wedding
Weddings are a grand affair in India but not everyone wants to follow the same norms. Ruchika and Vaibhav opted for a destination wedding in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh with only close friends and family in attendance.
“We wanted to enjoy our own wedding to the fullest and we made sure we did so.” Says Ruchika. However, this wasn’t the only change they were after. As a modern couple with a progressive outlook, they did not want to follow any rituals that would make them uncomfortable.
Daughters are not an object or property and therefore, there was no Kanyadaan at this wedding. Again no Vidaai a bride’s parents remain her parents for life! “The only thing that has changed is that I now have two sets of loving parents ❤️ The milni ceremony was done by Masi and his Mami. We did not have any separate functions or pujas. We both were equally present in all our functions and enjoyed to the hilt. All thanks to my family and in-laws for not forcing any of the rituals on either of us and not questioning any of our beliefs. Thanks to all our loving friends for making our wedding the most enjoyable one ☺️” says Ruchika.
The celebrations kicked off with a mehendi ceremony. For this day function, Ruchika looked resplendent in a mint green lehenga with a baby pink dupatta. She completed her look with fuchsia pink floral jewellery and left her hair down in soft waves. Vaibhav looked every bit the relaxed dulha in a dark teal kurta and a floral bandi jacket.
For her evening sangeet ceremony, Ruchika wore a stunning silver-grey lehenga with a lot of sequins. She kept her hair down and opted for minimal makeup and jewellery. To match his lady love, Vaibhav wore a dapper blue bandhgala.
For her Haldi ceremony, Ruchika wore a simple but beautiful mustard yellow chiffon saree with a zari border. Her look was kept simple yet again to let her natural beauty shine through.
Finally, for her big day, Ruchika looked stunning in a fuchsia pink lehenga with gold zari work and mirrors. She wore gorgeous jadau jewellery and kept it simple as always with a simple pink bindi and a beautiful jadau passa. Her handsome groom, looked every bit the regal prince in a white chikankari sherwani with mukaish and gold accents.
At the reception, this stunning couple surely made one and all swoon and drool all over them! Vaibhav looked like a superstar in a classic tuxedo while Ruchika wore a stunning mauve lehenga with jadau jewellery.
