Sambhav & Shivangi Hampi : Shivangi Customised her Lehenga with her Love Story & it is Gorgeous!
From an unconventional wedding destination to a personalised lehenga, Shivangi and Sambhav’s wedding gave us plenty of ideas and inspiration.
About the Couple
Shivangi and Sambhav met at a business networking event where Sambhav was chauffeuring his sister. They happened to have a brief conversation and realised that they have a few common friends. Shivangi says, “His sister realised that he was interested in me, so she offered to drop me back home which was very close to where they live. We exchanged numbers and started talking! I wasn’t ready for a relationship and made it quite clear to him from the start while he was very candid and clear about his intentions. I left for Monaco for my Masters just a couple of months later but we decided to stay in touch. I kept coming to Bangalore to visit my parents every 4-5 months, and Sambhav and I would inevitably meet every day. A year and a half later he came to visit me in France and stayed with me for 3 weeks to ‘convince’ me while secretly, I was already committed to him! Two years later he surprised me with a trip to the Maldives for a proposal, and a year later we got married in Hampi!”
The Wedding Festivities
Shivangi and Sambhav wanted an intimate wedding, surrounded by their loved ones. After exploring a lot of palace and beach destinations, they finally went to explore Hampi’s Evolve Back Resort as an option. They were floored by the hospitality and the sheer beauty of the resort. The property was so beautiful in itself that they kept minimalistic decor which was designed and executed by Shivangi and her sister-in-law. “We wanted our guests to feel extremely special and personalised everything possible, including cute notes for them in their rooms and washrooms” the bride says.
The Mehendi Ceremony
The wedding festivities kicked off with the mehendi ceremony. The bride wore a chic, hot pink crop top and skirt which she paired with a short jacket. She kept the jewellery to a minimum and wore a kundan maangtika.
The Sangeet Ceremony
For the sangeet ceremony the bride wore a cream and beige lehenga while her groom wore a navy blue kurta, white pants and a Nehru jacket. The evening saw the two love birds dancing to their heart’s content, amidst their loved ones.
The Wedding Ceremony
Seldom do brides design their own lehengas. Shivangi not only designed and personalised it, but also wowed us with her exemplary skills! She illustrated their travel stories and milestone moments on her lehenga. Sambhav wore an ivory sherwani and completed his look with a floral safa.
