Guys, grab a beer and listen carefully. Brides naturally get a free ticket to come a bit late for the big day – we secretly think that it’s a part of building up the suspense factor for everyone. That waiting time makes the groom sweat a little and ensures a few anxious moments before the couple cement their love (photographer’s delight, ain’t it?). One thing everyone expects is the groom to be on time; possibly the first person along with his best man and groomsmen. Set your alarm early and sacrifice the idea of pre-wedding night drinks. We don’t like groom-bashing time and a difficult chat about why you were late with the bride!

Remember the wedding rings

While you are trying hard to turn up on time, the last thing you want to do is leave behind your wedding rings. Keep them on your dressing table the night before your wedding day, make your best friend look after them and bring with him. The mandap or the altar has enough chaos to handle; it doesn’t need the groom frantically searching for rings combined with the perplexed expressions of your guests. Well, it might provide some light entertainment for everyone, but it certainly won’t please your bride.

The most beautiful part of the wedding celebrations could be that awkward verse you prepared for your love (unless you belong to the Mirza Galib lineage) or your family members. Perhaps, it’s the most interesting wedding moment your guests are looking forward to. The speech gives you a chance to thank everyone who has helped you make your big day possible. Don’t hesitate to bring in those funny stories of yourself and your bride, they never fail to amuse. If you are well prepared and practice your speech, everyone will remember it for all the right reasons.

Bring your overnight bag

Sounds bizarre? Yes, the bride needs to be all packed and prepared to go to your house. But has the thought of checking into the luxury hotel room for the wedding night crossed your mind? You’ve been so busy with helping your bride shop and accommodating everyone’s needs that this is the last thing you would think of. Your wedding night is not a bachelor’s night, and you need more than a pair of boxers to survive (how about starting with clean underwear?). Have someone drop your overnight bag at your changing room before you leave the venue at night. Let that friend be responsible for bringing your bag to the wedding and finding a safe spot for it in the bridal suite.
