Tired of the scorching heat during your wedding preps Here’re 8 tips to keep you calm and cool this summer!
Hi there, sweet summer child! Are you one of those summer loving brides who is hosting a wedding in the months of April and May? Or are you one of those brides who is running from here to there planning your wedding during the months of scorching heat and piercing loo?
You may wanna sit down and sip on some ganna ke ras, lady! Summers get you down easily and tire you out as soon as you step out of the house. It’s a tricky season but we’ve got some tips on how to keep yourself cool as a cucumber during the summers!
1. Stay Hydrated
Can’t stress this enough, you have to stay hydrated, babe! Throw all your excessive peeing excuses out of the window. If you don’t want to become dehydrated or fall sick, make water your best friend. You can add fruits/lemon wedges/sabja seeds to the water. Cooling agents, all of them!
2. Dip your Feet in Cold Water
Whenever you come back from a long day outside the house, dip your feet in a bucket of cold water when you come back. The cold water will charge you up instantly!
3. Avoid Greasy Food
No brainer, this one! Avoid eating greasy food as it will add to the heat in your body. Gorge on water rich foods like watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes, oranges, pineapples, etc.
4. Cotton
Silk and synthetic clothes are quite attractive but it is best to resort to the breezy cotton when summer comes around. Breathable cottons are the best!
5. Pulses
If you start feeling too hot, apply an ice pack to your pulse points- wrists, neck, elbows, groin, ankles, and behind the knees. It will instantly cool you down!
6. Avoid Caffeine or Sugary Drinks
Stir away from that coffee of yours as it promotes dehydration. Sugary drinks like flavoured soda is also a big no no! Water, fresh fruit juices or ganne ka rass, is your best bet.
7. Portable Fans
If the heat becomes unbearable, carry portable fans. Rishi Kapoor looked fabulous with it in Student of the Year, so will you!
8. No Alcohol
Don’t kill me for this one, but you’ll have to say “ta-ta, buh bye, cheerio!” to the alcohol.. Alcohol will dehydrate you and we can’t risk a hangover in these sweltering months, can we?!
Now don’t you sip on those margaritas, girl!
