For all the sexy legged lasses out there, the slit lehenga is something to watch out for this bridal season! No one could carry it the way Malaika Arora Khan did. She turned a sexy bride for designer Arpita Mehta in a stunning slit lehenga. Her lehenga was heavily embellished and had a detailed design with a sexy slit. Arpita Mehta’s lehenga collection was a beautiful display of ethnic and vibrant designs, with intricate mirror work, embroidery and flared silhouette prints.

The lehenga collection presented by Anushree Reddy at the LFW was called “The Royal Courtyard”, which had colours like bright pinks, pastels and peaches. Over the years, Anushree Reddy’s collection has been a favourite among a lot of would-be brides as the light, girly colours and beautiful fabrics make her outfits dreamy and perfect for any wedding. The showstopper Ileana D’Cruz looked ravishing in a pink lehenga choli, where the lehenga had a chevron print with a pretty peach dupatta and champagne beaded blouse. Her collection was royal indeed with the designs speaking volumes about the classic, timeless wardrobe that every bride wishes for!

Ridhi Mehra introduced the trend of the ‘attached cholis’. The concept of wearing a separate dupatta with your lehenga was slightly tweaked by Ridhi Mehra whose collection showcased a beautiful dupatta attached to your blouse and a creative, attached choli that stood out. Taking inspiration from women who are powerful, strong, and multi-faceted, her collection ‘PRISM’ was magnificent and dark. The outfit that stood out was a model who wore a mint green lehenga and the recreation of the Sheesh Mahal was the highlight of the whole attire. With beautiful mirror work and embroidery, the outfit took the fashion show by storm.

The collection by Anamika Khanna was reminiscent of the Cleopatra era with antique head dresses, beautiful capes and embroideries. Her collection mainly showcased elegant drapes and a monochromatic theme including metallic embroidery, hints of pinks, creams and midnight blue. The theme she played with was ‘sculpting’ and ‘de-sculpting’ with a lot of drapes, Indian dhotis and jackets. Kareena Kapoor Khan walked the ramp in a black and white Anamika Khanna outfit with heavy embroidery work while Deepika Padukone posed like a boss in a black cropped top and wide-legged pants.

His summer collection was named ‘Blue Runway’ that was a welcoming change in the show. It also carried a subtle social message related to the WEvolve campaign and highlighted gender issues. The models were styled in midnight blue outfits amidst floral décor and Moroccan lamps hanging from trees. His collection showcased mirror work and floral embroidery with a touch of 3D and textured effect. The women’s clothes line mainly involved flowy gowns, jacket sarees, halter crop tops and skirts that were an ode to the lehenga.

His outfits were inspired by the 70’s era and had a lot of bright floral prints coupled with sunglasses and belts as accessories. If you’re not a fan of anything too heavy, the beautiful light lehengas he showcased could be your go-to outfits for your wedding day.
