5 Tips to Keep your Guests Warm at a Winter Wedding

5 Tips to Keep your Guests Warm at a Winter Wedding

Winter has already set in and I cannot help but notice the different ‘winter-y’ things cropping up at weddings these days. There is something special about winter weddings besides of course, the super-chilly weather which most of us find cosy and fun!

Winter weddings witness guests dressed a bit differently- piling on some thicker and warmer clothes, hot beverages and alcoholic drinks and more hot food options rather than ice creams and chilled aerated drinks.

However, winter weddings may tend to get a tad bit uncomfortable for guests too, which is the last thing any couple wants, right?

Now, since every guest’s comfort is your responsibility, here are some tips to keep your guests warm and snug while they attend your function:

1. Winter-specific favours

Make sure you have plenty of warm scarves, shawls, and wraps at the wedding venue.

You could also allow your guests to take them home after the function, this way they will serve as thoughtful favours.

2. Indoor Venue

It is best to be prepared for the worst weather during winters, you never know when the temperature might drastically dip!

If it is fairly chilly, it is best to choose an indoor venue. Even if you do have to have a function outdoors, make sure you wrap it up soon.

3. Hot beverages

You can bid adieu to aerated drinks and cold juices as beverages on your wedding. Your guests would prefer something piping hot.

If you plan on keeping alcohol at your wedding, make sure your bar is stocked up with loads of whiskey, rum and scotch. If you are planning to serve non-alcoholic drinks, you could consider serving hot chocolate, apple cider, masala chai and filter coffee.

4. Food choices

This is the season where raitas, cold salads, ice creams and kulfi can be ditched.

You could consider serving more hot food like curries, tandoori kebabs, etc.

5. Bonfire

If you are having a function during winter, especially at a location like a farmhouse or on the outskirts of the city,

you could always arrange for a bonfire on one side of the venue. It is a nice place for guests to sit around and chit-chat and feel cozy.

All set to brace the chills?
