Rishi & Aakanksha Delhi : Aakanksha and Rishi’s intimate Delhi wedding is setting goals for everyone!

Aakanksha and Rishi’s tied the knot in their hometown, Delhi. Their families stay in Dubai and Thailand but they both belong to Delhi. Wanting to stay close to their roots, they planned and hosted a Delhi wedding with lots of help from their extended family. Their wedding is a proof of the saying “Where there is a will, there is a way!”

The Love Story…

The lovebirds met each other back in college nearly 8 years ago. They were friends for quite some time but a vacation in Indonesia changed everything! Rishi whisked away to Indonesia for a weekend but Aakanksha stayed back in Singapore. Over the weekend they realised that they miss each other’s company. When he came back, Aakanksha didn’t skip a beat and made the first move! It’s been 8 years since that day and today, they are happily married to each other!

The Wedding Festivities…

Planning the wedding proved to be a fun, but tough task. Both Akanksha and Rishi reside in the US, Aakanksha’s parents in Dubai and Rishi’s in Thailand! The wedding was held in Delhi which meant they were depended on their extended family and their planners, Bluegrass Events.

The Mehendi Ceremony…

Aakanksha wore a gold sequined top and paired it with a turquoise raw silk skirt- one of our favourite combinations! Her mehendi ceremony was taken care of by her masis and one of them hosted it at her place! The house was adorned with genda phool and rose petal decor. They aimed at a homely, vibrant atmosphere and achieved it successfully!

The Sangeet Ceremony…

Aakanksha and Rishi’s sangeet ceremony was resplendent with dance, music and cocktails. They chose a theme of ivory, peach and champagne to bring the evening alive! Their friends performed a flash mob that really set the tone of the evening! Punjabi tappe brought their families closer and got them tapping their feet!

The Wedding..

Delhi winters call for a bride draped in velvet! So Aakanksha chose a beautiful burgundy velvet lehenga from Asiana Couture. She complimented her lehenga with gold choker and a ruby rani haar. The decor was full of dull gold lighting with white, pink and wine petals, perfect for a winter wedding!
