Ankit & Ayushi Udaipur : When College Friends Became Soulmates!
To have a friend as a life partner is a wonderful thing. I mean you already know the person, their likes, dislikes and everything about them. What more can one ask for! Such is the story of this cute couple.
How They Met
Ayushi and Ankit have known each other since college. She had heard a lot about him through her friends and always wondered who this guy was. The first time she noticed him was in the college night mess. Ankit liked her throughout the college days but they actually started talking to each other after their college was over.
The In-between Story
Reminiscing her wedding Ayushi said “This wedding was my dream come true. Ever since I had visited Udaipur with my friend, it was a dream to get married in Udaipur. And somehow after searching for different venues and looking at different places, we finalised on Udaipur and it seemed all my wishes came true.”
The Arrival
Generally, the arrival is not a part of the event but this one was different. Ayushi told us that “Our flight from Kolkata to Udaipur was an event in itself! We had designed various games about the couple and had specially customised travel folders and itinerary along with an in-flight entertainment magazine filled with information about the bride and groom. We also had a host who was coordinating various inflight games, etc. While the bride’s side got their mehendi done that day, it was the baaratis arriving with a bang that made things even more fun” That was one big arrival we must say.
The Welcome Dinner
It was an opportunity for the members of both the families to spend some relaxed time before all the madness began. An evening filled with dancing and lots of laughter. The decor was kept very modern and regal with the majority of the focus on lighting! The minimal decor accentuated the already beautiful Shiv Niwas Lawns. Ayushi’s favourite part was the chandeliers hanging against the darkness.
Wedding Ceremonies
Haldi
Haldi took place at Shiv Niwas Lawns. Ayushi looked pretty in her yellow-orange mirror work attire. She completed the look with white floral jewellery. While Ankit wore a yellow kurta and white pyjamas. There were dance performances by artists as well.
Mehndi
They kept the colour scheme of green and pink. The bride’s side was dressed in green and the groom’s side in pink. Ayushi wore a mix of both colours symbolizing their union. She looked fabulous in her green one-shouldered choli and pink lehenga. She adorned red floral jewellery with haar and jhumkas. She had customised latkans on her lehenga which read “Ankit ki Dulhaniya” “Sada Saubhagyawati Bhava”
When asked about how the entire mehndi function was, Ayushi said “Our Mehendi was a perfect mix of colour and culture. We had artists and Vendors from all over Rajasthan. We had the Langa Troupe giving classical feel to new Bollywood songs, handmade juttis, potters etc. I insisted on having a grand swing for our seating and we got the perfect one!” To her surprise, There was a flash mob organised by the groom’s side which took her heart away. She said, “the best thing of all was my childhood dream came true, Ankit entered on the song ‘Sajan Ji Ghar Aaye. My absolute wow moment!” Ayushi was clearly having the wedding of her dreams.
Sangeet
The theme for our Sangeet was ‘Glitz and Glamour’. Everyone came with their sparkliest of clothes and extra Bollywood moves. It was a fun-filled Bollywood night with Jay Bhanushali as the MC. The attraction of this whole event was the stage made with LED, designed to incorporate the elements of Zenana Mahal itself. Ayushi looked ravishing in a Tarun Tahiliani outfit. Pink hued lehenga with diamond and ruby jewellery. Meanwhile, Ankit looked princely in Shantanu and Nikhil heavy embroidered maroon bandhgala and black trousers.
The Wedding
The wedding was something that Ayushi had been long waiting for. After all her dream was coming true, that too at her dream destination! She fondly mentioned the day saying “ These three words can describe my wedding- ‘Dream Come True’. It was nothing short of a Royal Wedding. My groom, coming to take me away in a convoy of elephants, horses and carriages! The famous Jia Band from Delhi were there. And my entry was the most dreamy one! I slowly walked down to the love of my life with Jasleen Royal singing, ‘Din Shagna Da’ and my brother beside me with fireworks everywhere but all I could focus on was him and his waiting hands. Everything was a blur and as soon as I held his hands, everything became clear. It was all magical!”
Ayushi and Ankit both looked like royalty on their big day. The couple wore Rimple & Harpreet Narula designed attire. Ayushi’s heavy embroidered lehenga with red chunari and dupatta looked stunning. She contrasted the jewellery wearing an emerald kundan set. Ankit looked like a king in his green-hued and golden bordered bandhgala sherwani. His motihaar, red stole and the feathered brooch on his safa only accentuated the regal look!
Must say Ayushi and Ankit’s wedding has given us wedding goals for a dream wedding!
