Just when you think Sabyasachi Mukherjee can’t surprise you anymore, he announces the launch of his flagship jewellery store in Mumbai. Sabyasachi Jewellery’s store opens doors today and it couldn’t have come at a better time- it’s the wedding planning season after all!
Sabyasachi’s career as a jeweller started way back in his teens- when he would peddle costume jewellery in plastic tiffin boxes to hawkers in Calcutta. In a detailed post on Instagram, the designer acknowledged all the brides and grooms who’ve supported his craft. “I started designing jewellery with the conviction that I could bring great value, transparency and sense of pride into the existing jewellery business in India. The prerogative was to keep tradition, workmanship and quality alive. And I am glad that the vision paid off. Thank you to our countless brides worldwide and every man and woman who chose to wear our jewellery.” the post reads. The best part? He is going to be available for private jewellery appointments from 22nd to 26th October!

Sabyasachi described her jewellery as- “As an ode to the resplendence of Mughal jewellery, Priyanka Chopra’s wedding jewellery was crafted with uncut diamonds, emeralds and Japanese cultured pearls in 22 karat gold and had delicate tiny stars in uncut diamonds to give a sense of whimsy to an important traditional piece.”
