Aakash & Dhruvita Anand : When cupid arranged a love-match for Dhruvita and Aakash!

Aakash & Dhruvita Anand : When cupid arranged a love-match for Dhruvita and Aakash!

Some times cupid needs a little push to bring two soulmates together. And in the case of Dhruvita and Aakash, it was Dhruvita’s mother who steered them towards their common goal – their holy matrimony!

Dhruvita and Aakash, both natives of Anand, Gujarat were introduced to each other through common friends. First, it was the only friendship that mattered the most but soon they realised there was more to their story. However, Dhruvita took matters in her hand after five years of just being friends! She confessed her feelings to Aakash on a call and proposed to him! He obviously said yes and the best part is, Dhruvita’s mom firmly believed in their relationship and the fact that they would make a happy, successful couple.

She was instrumental in making this love cum arrange match a success!

The Wedding

As both Dhruvita and Aakash belonged to the same community, things were really smooth for them when it came to planning their wedding. The wedding festivities started with a Haldi ceremony, followed by Grah Shanti Puja, a Garba raas cum sangeet function, engagement and then the wedding.

For her engagement, Dhruvita wore teal and pale blue lehenga with floral embroidery. Aakash matched her look by wearing a sherwani in the shade of blue with similar work on it. For the Garba function, they were colour coordinated again – she wore a wine and off white lehenga with a Bandhani dupatta with mirror work. Aakash wore Kurta pajama set in the same colours. For their Grah Shanti Puja, Dhruvita wore a beautiful silk lehenga with a patola dupatta.

For the wedding, as it was a traditional Gujarati wedding, Dhruvita wore a Panetar lehenga, i.e. a deep bottle green velvet lehenga skirt with an ivory coloured dupatta with embroidery. The groom wore a sherwani in ivory with matching embroidery. An interesting fact to note is that both the bride and groom are deeply religious. Therefore, they recreated their beliefs and faith in their wedding attires. Dhruvita’s choli depicted the Akshardham Temple through embroidery while Aakash’s shawl had the same design.
