Got cold feet? How to deal with pre-wedding jitters
We still can’t get over how freaked out Chandler was before his wedding day even after a long courtship period with Monica (yes, the world still has to recover from the hangover of ‘Friends’). FYI, he still overcame those pre-wedding jitters and entered the ‘happily ever after’ phase of life! So, moral of the story is that it is ok to get cold feet. Nevertheless, it happens to the best of us but how you get through the crisis is what matters.
So take a deep breath, stop thinking and read what we have to say about calming those pre-wedding jitters.
Find out your concerns
Don’t let all the worry make you go crazy and drain out all the energy you have. Make a list of all the reasons for getting cold feet. To get more perspective, identify the bigger concerns and try resolving them before your big day. You can then concentrate on the smaller worries and act accordingly. This way, slowly but gradually, you’ll identify and sort out all the issues you have and be all set to take the plunge.
Surround yourself with positive people

At such times, it helps to surround yourself with positive people. Yeah, the same species you run away from on a normal day (dude, you have no choice). You should not be near people who increase your level of anxiety and maintain a considerable distance from them. That way, dealing with pre-wedding jitters becomes manageable.
Talk about your apprehensions with her

Communicate. Anything and everything can be unraveled just by communicating. If you plan to spend the rest of your life with that woman, just go to her for all the support you need. Talk it out. She will help you understand things and proceed towards your big day.
Breathe in. Breathe out. It helps

Inhale. Exhale. It’s been proven time and again that breathing helps to calm your nerves. So, if you’re really going berserk with your thoughts, loosen up a bit and focus on your breathing. Spend a couple of minutes each day on your breathing and you will realize that it does help in easing out all you worries.
Delegate work

It’s your wedding day! Release some of the pressure by delegating tasks to a few of your close friends. All the wedding preparations and tasks are not your sole responsibility. Don’t let the preparation bog you down and make you anxious and tensed.
Pamper yourself
Have fun, loosen up, go for a run or get a massage at a spa. Relax or just sleep it off. Also, try and look at the bright and funny side of a conversation or conflict. Pampering yourself with the things you love helps you unwind.
Focus on the big picture

Be positive and look at what the future has in store for you! All the nervousness and cold feet is just a matter of time. Your wedding day is going to be over in the blink of an eye. So, just go with the flow and think of it as the beginning of a new chapter in your life and turn it into a huge celebration.
Pause for a moment; think about your bride-to-be and the innumerable reasons why you love her. Once you have an answer to all these questions, you’ll realize that nothing else matters! All the cold feet and nervousness is just for a day, and there is a new life waiting ahead of you. Just sit back, cherish every moment and enjoy the whole ride!
