Zenith & Gouthami Kerala : Gouthami and Zenith’s Pristine Cross Culture Wedding will Melt your Heart
Remember the bride and her sister decked in silk kanjivarams grooving to the popular Punjabi track, “Jaani Tera Naa”? When the photographer sent us a sneak peak of their video, we were smitten. We knew we had to talk to the quirky bride. Bubbly and chirpy Gouthami was more than happy to share details of her love story with us.
About the Couple
Zenith & Gouutham work as flight attendants with an international airline. Their first meeting was about 6 years ago in a flight to Istanbul. Gouthami recalls their first meeting and says, “I still remember he walked over and said Hi, I am Zenith, your cabin supervisor, you must be new and shook my hand. I swear his sweet smile and breathtaking looks just swept me off my feet!” It was difficult for them to keep their eyes off each other. As Gouthami was about to take an exit from the cabin, Zenith called her and asked if she was hungry and slowly moved a cup of tiramisu towards her. And that’s how a 5 hours long flight turned into 5 years of relationship!“
The Wedding Festivities
As they come from different cultural backgrounds, Gouthami and Zenith got married twice- once in a Hindu ceremony and second in a Christian ceremony. Working overseas while planning a wedding that would take place in India would prove to be a little taxing. But Gouthami’s mother and sister took charge and meticulously planned everything. They wanted everything to be traditional and authentic.
Hindu Ceremony
Gouthami was sure that she wanted Lumiere Wedding Company to capture their precious moments. She says, “They are so easy to work with. Cool and calm team, just so professional, polished and always on time. And a big thank you to them for making a video of me and my sister grooving to a punjabi song . That was the best part of our wedding. It was just a spot on thought and I think we could nail it only with their help.” For the Hindu wedding Gouthami’s mother was particular about her daughter wearing a Sabyasachi ensemble. So she chose a red saree from his Kanchipuram collection and paired it with ethnic gold jewellery.
They chose a Kerala theme for their Hindu wedding. Kathakali artists welcomed the guests at the entrance. An elaborate golden mandap was set up for the ceremony.
Christian Ceremony
The Christian wedding was held in a Syrian Christian way as Zenith hails from Kottayam part of Kerala. Gouthami was a sight to behold- in a white gown with their names embroidered on her sleeves.
