‘When a pleasant arranged meeting turned into a sweet marriage story’

The Story

Aswini and Arjun were introduced to each other by their families and developed a liking for each other almost instantly. Soon technology played cupid too and they found themselves glued to the phone, conversing, sharing and laughing for hours on end. A couple of brief meetings and pleasant dates proved to be the icing on the cake for this couple who had by now started falling for each other. The sweet culmination of all of this convinced them that they had found a true soulmate in each other!

The Proposal  

As theirs was an arranged match, there was no typical ‘proposal’ as such to take things to the next level. However, they shared innumerable special moments with each other for them to realise that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other. Add to this journey, the entire lockdown period which truly ended up cementing their relationship. As Aswini recounts, “The lockdown restricted us to meet each other. That craving to meet ended up in beautiful  moments which were inexplicable”

The Wedding

Aswini and Arjun were clear from the start that their marriage has to represent all things elegant and subtle. Hence everything was planned keeping these two things in mind. They opted for an intimate wedding which spanned two days. And began the preparation for their close-knit, memorable and meaningful wedding.

They had a small engagement ceremony to begin with. While this programme seamlessly unfolded in the day, the same evening a cultural ceremony was planned. As part of this, the groom handed over the bridal saree to his soon-to-be wife. Day two was when the actual marriage ceremony took place. For this day, Aswini looked like a dream in a stunning kanchi saree. She paired this with traditional jewellery. The man of the day, Arjun opted for a subtle and traditional look as well and donned a white shirt and mundu. True to their vision and theme of marriage, this couple got married just the way they envisioned with the blessings of their family and friends. As they say, ‘All’s well that ends well’ in this case, let’s just say, ‘All’s well that begins well!’ 🙂
