Dhruv & Neha Dehradun : An Impressive Destination Wedding with Loads of Decor Inspiration

An offbeat location, loads of decor inspiration and some floral panache- these are just a few words that perfectly describe Neha and Dhruv’s beautiful wedding in Dehradun. 

About the Couple

Social media influencer and dentist Neha met invest banker Dhruv via a matrimonial website. Two meetings and just a two month long distance catch-up over messages and Whatsapp was enough for Neha and Dhruv to take the leap of faith and decide upon an arranged marriage. Neha, the bride says, “Well, it seems a little off now-a-days to opt for an arranged marriage, but when you see a guy crack a sense worthy conversation and laugh along with your dad in the very first meeting and be insightful of little things like me being an only child and talk about planning our future accordingly, you know this is man you’ve been looking out for. Two months and two meetings…and we knew this was it!”

The Wedding Festivities

Neha and Dhruv had a big challenge ahead of them- to plan and execute a wedding of their dreams in a span of two months. Let me tell you, they did it effortlessly! Explaining her outfits in detail, Neha says, “Being active on the social media circuit, I had seen a lot of content so was pretty much updated on the latest trends. Though I was pretty sure on what was in-vogue, I also knew what would look good on me as well. So when deciding on the looks for the wedding; this was pretty much my deciding equation- Choose a unique color palette for every occasion and find that outfit that is in vogue but suits me and keeps me comfortable.”

The Mehendi Ceremony

For her Mehandi and Haldi outfit, Neha kept the look easy, a pink sharara and a suit top with a bright pop of colour. A orange genda phool decor was perfect for the mehendi ceremony.

The Engagement Ceremony

“For the Engagement, simply put I wanted to have my princess moment. The gown was not over the top exuberant or flashy and had just the right flare for me to be able to dance. The color and the boat neck is what stole my heart and made me have my princess moment.” says Neha. She made sure that the decor complements her outfit. Both the stage and the main photo-op backdrop for the engagement complimented her ivory gown and his navy blue suit.

The Wedding Ceremony 

For the wedding since they opted for a day wedding, Neha opted for a blush pink lehenga which she paired with a zing of silver zari embroidery, some gold and kundan jewellery and a bunch of fresh flowers. “Fresh flower bun, that perfect shade of my lipstick and jewellery selection is something that helped me crack the look. Also for the wedding jewelry, that is indeed the most important pointer for brides and families also. My main vision for my bridal look was to have the focus of the whole look on my face. Which with a jewelry overload gets shifted. Hence, did not opt for the most-treaded path and opted for a face highlight with jewelry elements like the mathapatti, a nose ring and choker.”
