About the lovebirds

Two Bitsians based in USA, Nomchin and Udbhav, had one of the most interesting wedding. Nomchin, a Punjabi kuddi and Udbhav a Tam-Bhram, this wedding was a ‘Reverse Two-States’!

Udbhav believes that his beautiful Punjaban wife got a lot of ‘Punjabi’ness into life which he is super-happy about, and she also helped him open up emotionally and express himself better. One of the things which leaves Nomchin awestruck about her groom is that he is very punctual and this is a trait she really appreciates.

“It didn’t feel like anything big was happening. It just felt like everything is normal, only because Udbhav was by my side.”

Wedding Festivities

Mehendi and Haldi

The bride was dressed in a purple and ochre kanjeevaram saree, paired with traditional gold jewellery, on her mehendi ceremony. The decor was vibrant and colourful with drapes and suspended large tassels.

The haldi ceremony witnessed both the families having a gala time! The bride and groom were seen twinning in ochre-yellow outfits, Udbhav wore a kurta while Nomchin wore an elegant saree which she paired with white and purple floral jewellery.

Ring ceremony and Wedding

The Wedding was a typical South Indian Iyer affair, where everything from the rituals to outfits was traditional.  The groom was wearing an angavastram and a dhoti. Nomchin looked stunning in a rust and dark pink kaanjeevaram saree, paired with a rani haar, a smaller necklace, ethnic jhumkaas, and an offbeat maathapatti.

The Wedding decor was largely Rajasthani-inspired with suspended embroidered umbrellas and Rajasthani ethnic dolls.

Best Moment

“The most emotional and memorable moment from the wedding was when I sat on my father’s lap for the Kanyadana ceremony and they gave me a coconut to hold in my hand. That was the moment it struck me that this was happening for real.”

Wedding USP

Udbhav’s traditional Tamil parents were super-excited to be apart of the wedding ceremonies as they were going to witness Punjabis wearing dhotis and carrying out typical Tamil rituals.
