About the cute couple

Ruchi and Amit met through a matrimonial site. Initially, they would talk on the phone to know each other better and to figure out whether or not their families were compatible. 

Surprisingly, Ruchi and Amit met only once before their marriage was fixed, as Amit was in Gujrat and Ruchi in Delhi. 

“We didn’t meet many times before our marriage as it was a long-distance relationship but whenever we met, it was memorable and sweet.”

Ruchi and Amit are two diametrically opposite personalities. While Ruchi is talkative and a complete extrovert, Amit is shy and reserved. Hence, the adage, “Opposites attract” fits extremely well in their scenario. 

“We are not the perfect couple and we are totally different personalities, but we have the best understanding of our differences and according to me ‘Understanding’ and ‘Friendship’ are the pillars of a solid relationship. I feel so comfortable in his company that I don’t need to think twice before saying anything to him. Neither is he perfect and nor am I, but we’re perfect for each other.” 

Mushy moments

“One day Amit gave me a surprise by landing up at my place in Delhi. When he said he had come specially to meet me, I was on cloud 9. I was shocked, nervous and also confused as to what I should be wearing four our date :-P.”

This was not all! Although Amit couldn’t be physically present, on their first Karwa Chauth he sent Ruchi gifts and her favourite truffle cake. 

The Wedding Planning 

Ruchi has a small online business and works from home. This is why it was not very tough for her to manage everything.  

The toughest task was to find a makeup artist, who is good at his/her job. “I searched on so many websites, talked to so many people and saw everyone’s work. Some were already booked, some didn’t want to come to Jim Corbett, some were not up to the mark, while others did not fit my budget. Finally, I  found Amit Kumar from Rohini, Delhi. The decoration was completely managed by the families. Ruchi did not face many issues, except shopping, as it was a destination wedding. 

The Wedding Festivities

Mehendi

The bride, Ruchi, wore a stunning multi-colour saree with vibrant colours like pink, turquoise blue and royal blue in it. She paired her outfit with red and purple floral jewellery. Ruchi was looking absolutely gorgeous! Not to miss her unconventional hairdo. Amit was dressed in a white kurta and churidar, paired with a cream bandhgala jacket.

The decor was traditional and looked like a riot of colours- with a large swing enveloped in flowers, embroidered parasols, cloth lanterns and more.

Sangeet

Ruchi looked elegant in an apricot lehenga, simple makeup, and a fancy hairstyle. Amit looked debonair in a dark blue tux paired with a contrasting red tie. The function witnessed a whole lot of dance performances and sizzling chemistry.

Wedding

Ruchi flaunted a traditional red heavily embellished lehenga, paired with heavy gold kaleeras, a statement emerald kundan choker, and an opulent maathapatti. Amit wore a turquoise blue sherwani, paired with stately emerald jewellery.
