Tanay & Shikha Kalutara : This wedding was an amalgamation of mythology and magic, with Indian and Sri Lankan inspired themes.

A perfect blend of themes inspired by Indian royalty and mythology, Sri Lankan culture, and a dash of modernity.

The Wedding Festivities

Cocktail Party

The theme of the cocktail party which was held in Mumbai was ‘Royal Indian’. The palette of the decor was red and gold, infused with red drapes, roses and Rajasthani work. The chandeliers, brass pots, and elephants made the entire ambience feel classy, opulent and sophisticated.

The floral upholstery on the chairs, the gold plated crockery, and the tables decorated with bunches of flowers and candlesticks were a treat to the eyes.

The bride wore an ivory and gold lehenga, with two dupattas- one a multicoloured dupatta and the other being a sheer cream coloured one. The groom flaunted an angarkha with floral motifs.

Pool Party

This couple had a rather hatke emoji-theme for their pool party at Sri Lanka, something different from the usual neons, nautical themes, Moroccan and Greek themes. The couple made a dramatic entry to the venue on a speedboat, accompanied by acrobatic jetskiers.

Everything was according to the theme- paper fans, quirky signage boards, balloons and cushions. The large flamingo floats added to the colour and quirk.

Shikha wore a blue and pink Sabyasachi kaftan, while Tanay kept it casual with ochre trousers and a light blue shirt. The couple and their friends had a gala time in the pool.

Sundowner Sangeet

The sangeet left everyone awestruck with its Sri Lankan-inspired accents and decor. The large elephants, drummers, and fire dancers completed the tropical vibe.

By the beach, there were comfy and cute cabanas for guests to chill out and relax. There were also wooden teepees surrounded by candles and lamps. Friends and family could relax at the little seating arrangements, made under the teepees.

Shikha looked like a million bucks in a sexy contemporary black lehenga and a blouse that had a plunging neckline. Tanay wore a white kurta and churidar, paired with a black bandhgala bandi with blue embroidery.

Wedding

The wedding was every bit gorgeous and made us go ‘WOW’ at the very first glance. It was inspired by the Vrindavan theme, and the pheras took place with the lagoon as the backdrop. Just as the bride entered, she was escorted by folk dancers to the wedding mandap.

The bride looked like a dream in a cream and apricot saree, replete with floral embroidery, paired with statement polki jewellery and lavender flowers tucked into her bun.
