Rajat & Sonal Delhi : This inter-cultural wedding saw a refreshing mehendi, understated engagement and a royal shaadi!
Inter-cultural weddings are always exciting, owing to a mix and match of flavours, a mysterious freshness and a variety of rituals and traditions witnessed. Sonal and Rajat’s wedding had all of this! Read on to know more about their wedding festivities..
About the couple..
Sonal and Rajat were together for a decade before finally tying the knot. It was only last year in November that this inter-cultural, Malyali-Punjabi love story, culminated into a lifelong bond and they entered into a new phase of marital bliss!
The Wedding Festivities..
Mehendi ceremony
The yellow-themed mehendi ceremony took place in the backyard of Sonal’s house, a simple yet thoughtful setting. The Delhi wintry weather did its wonders and the guests got to enjoy the outdoor function. Sonal was dressed in an elegant yellow-green attire, which complemented the decor extremely well.
Engagement and Sangeet
It started with the bride’s sister narrating stories revolving around the dating days of Sonal and Rajat. This was followed by a whole lot of dancing which saw the couple setting the stage on fire and subsequently the ring ceremony! The couple then had their intimate and cute portrait session, which we simply couldn’t take our eyes off.
Haldi, Chooda and Kalire ceremony
This ceremony was more of a fun and casual affair as opposed to anything pompous or too over-the-top. The room was filled with banters, giggles and laughter. At the end, Sonal performed the Kalire drop ceremony.
The Wedding
The wedding was yet again an outdoor ceremony and the decor was at its best! The gorgeous bride’s entry was quite a headturner. Sonal had adorned a minimalistic ivory lehenga with the right amount of shimmer and bling on it. While, Rajat looked dapper in a classic gold sherwani.
