Srishti and Dev Doab Vilas Resort Wedding

‘When love knocked on the doors of a corporate professional and defense officer, they knew it was for a lifetime!’

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” ― Lao Tzu

The Story

Destiny played cupid in Srishti and Dev’s story as they met each other at such a juncture in life when they were not keen on even getting into a relationship, forget getting married at all! But life had other plans in store for this multinational company working woman and IAF officer. After being introduced to each other by Srishti’s sister who is also married to an officer, they hit it off instantly and in the first meeting itself decided to get hitched! Well, you know how the saying goes, ‘Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans!’

The Proposal

Quite like their unusual and unexpected story, their proposal too was an unplanned one! Dev proposed marriage to Srishti on their first meeting itself. Recounting that day, this much in love bride says, “On our first meet-up at a pub over a drink, in just a couple of hours he was sure that he could spend his life with me through thick and thin. Whereas I insisted on getting to know each other by spending some more time together. But he had made up his mind and he had decided that he doesn’t need more time to rethink about his future life with me. He was very sure that he was going to convince me anyhow.”

Surreal, isn’t it?!

The Wedding

This couple were keen on having an intimate destination wedding close to the bride’s hometown, Meerut. With just close relatives and friends in attendance for a three-day event their idea was to have a wedding full of fun where both the bride and groom can enjoy and cherish their own wedding which is generally a far fetched thought with all the arrangements to be looked after.

Hence all the events were planned at Doab Vilas Resort as they have an amazing set-up consisting of two different halls , a lawn and a pool area, where you can plan your functions with ease as per the theme in mind.

For their first event which was an intimate mehendi ceremony only for the family members, Srishti wore a sequined knee length jumpsuit. She paired it with a floral bun and statement earrings to add to the bride vibes and opted for a minimalist makeup look. Dev, on the other hand, wore a classic blue shirt and grey trousers and paired it with a matching scarf.

The following day an elaborate mehendi function was planned. For this, the bride opted for a blue slit skirt with a crop top to give a vibrant fusion look and completed her look with a swarovski maang tikka! This event was followed by a fun haldi and pool party. Srishti rocked in a bright yellow lehenga while Dev wore a khadi yellow shirt with shorts. Later for the pool party the bride changed into a crop top with a floral print plazo.

Next in line was the engagement and cocktail party. For this the lady in love stepped out in a  fully embellished offbeat black gown, all ready to dance the night away! She paired it with layered neckpieces, statement swarovski earrings and a complimenting hair clip on one side to give it an old glam vintage look. Dev looked dapper in a perfectly fitted three-piece suit with a white shirt and back tie. They sure looked straight out of a dream!

Come d-day, the bride looked like a million bucks in her wined-hued embellished lehenga while the groom looked no less in a custom made sherwani designed by the bride itself! The next day was the day of the bidaai. Srishti wore a pure silk Banarasi saree while Dev also kept it traditional in a silk kurta and a white lower.

And finally, the last event in line was the reception ceremony. Srishti donned a mustard lehenga embellished heavily with signature gotta patti work. She paired it with contemporary temple jewellery and bright glossy makeup. Her spouse, Dev wore a dreamy fuchsia pink sherwani with custom-made rose gold buttons. Needless to say, this couple looked picture-perfect in every way!
