Sid & Upasana Kerala : A breathtaking wedding midst the backwaters of Kerala that made our jaws drop!
Upasana and Siddharth’s love story is one for the books; a coming together of two cultures, North & South, literally! Recently, the couple tied the knot in an ethereal ceremony at The Leela Kovalam, Kerala – in God’s own country. Their wedding marked a union of two souls and two families.
The Uttar-Dakshin Love Story
Upasana and Siddharth met via mutual friends about 5 years ago but eventually lost touch. But fate had other plans, and two years ago, fate brought them back once again. On a beautiful day, Siddharth decided to log on to Facebook, and as it happened to be Upasana’s birthday, he randomly wished her. A simple birthday wish marked the beginning of something special. Over time they realized their love and importance for each other and decided to tie the knot. But life is not a bed of roses; Upasana and Siddharth had to bring together two very different cultures – Upasana is a Marwari while Siddharth is a Malayali. And this was no mean task! As they tried to reason with their respective families, their eternal love for each other brought the families together, and soon they started planning a beautiful wedding in Kerala.
The Wedding Festivities
When we asked Upasana about the wedding planning, she gave all the credits to their planners, Krafted Knots, who executed every minute detail to perfection- from A to Z, and to their families who were very supportive of all the ideas. She says it was an easy task to achieve the wedding of her dreams because of them!
The Hawaaiin Affair
The wedding festivities kicked off with a fun-filled Hawaaiin Affair. The theme spoke for itself, complete with florals and pastels. It was a casual and fun welcome party for the guests with lots of vibrant colors, pina coladas, and other activities like a caricaturist, foot massages and mehendi. Upasana wore a pastel pink and yellow gown and accessorized it with a floral tiara. Sid kept it true to the theme and wore a beachy blue shirt and white pants.
The Sangeet
The Hawaaiin Affair was followed by a glittery sangeet night. Under a sky full of stars, with rustic decor and a beautiful backdrop for a stage with the sea as their backdrop, two families danced to their heart’s content to celebrate their children’s love. Upasana describes her sangeet night as a night with lots of fun and dancing when North met South!
The Pajama Party
And the dancing continued into a unique pajama party! Upasana and Sid took couple entry a notch higher by riding on a luggage cart. A camping photo booth was the highlight of the décor. She says, “We wanted everyone to let loose and not worry about another outfit, hence this theme.”
The Haldi Ceremony
The theme of the haldi was shades of sunshine, and all their guests were sporting enough to live up to it, and added a lot of exuberance to it. The venue was a beautiful set up overlooking the sea. Their loved ones smeared the couple with haldi and didn’t spare even an inch of their hair!
The Wedding
On a beautiful spring morning, Upasana and Siddharth took a plunge and dove into the deep waters of holy matrimony in a dreamy set up on the beach with a breathtaking view, a crazy baraat dancing to the “sringaramelam’. The bride, decked in a red lehenga and fine jewelry walked under a phoolon ki chaadar with her brothers. The decor was elegant yet minimal, with just a play of flowers.
