5 Fresh Bridal Outfits for the Stylish Bold Bride by PapaDon’tPreach! #WzExclusive

Are you a bride who is bold and adventurous with an insatiable zest for life? Are you looking for bridal designs which are edgy and will make a statement when you wear them at your wedding? If this is totally you, then you are at the right place. Papa Don’t Preach’s latest bridal collection- #ThatPapaDon’tPreachGirl in London town will totally blow your mind.

Papa Don’t Preach – this label by Shubhika Davda is a striking example of bridal fashion gone ferociously creative with the use of innovative cuts, styles, embroidery techniques and play on colours.

This Indian high street brand, which stands out in a clutter of all the desi wear brands, comprises of some edgy yet effortlessly easy-to-wear bridal pieces. Intoxicated with all her designs, I decided to pick the brand’s Chief Fashion Officer and founder, Shubhika’s mind and learn all about her recent collection in a candid tete-a-tete.

Without much further adieu, let’s have a look at the collection:

Q. Who is the collection aimed at?

A. It is designed for a Papa Don’t Preach girl. Who is she? Well she’s like a Ribbon around a Bomb. She is whoever she wants to be, and / or whatever mood she woke up in on that particular day. From being a pretty barbie doll – dipped in head to toe millennial pink to a badass boss in Pant suit. The pictures showcase all her moods / personalities against the back drop of the Iconic London.

Q. Tell us a little about the collection:

A. The looks:

1. For the retro lover:

If you are a fan of all things retro, this look is all you. Spotted in a 60’s inspired millennial mauve – pink suit paired with fitted pants and ruffle hem is an outfit to die for. The look is completed with a really cute bandhana, gorgeous shades and stunning shoes.

Shubhika says, “She’s wearing a 60’s inspired suit, which I’m really keen on bringing it back as it’s very flattering to the Indian silhouette.

Also, we have tried to create the hourglass illusion with cydellic sequins and 3D thread work embroidery.

It’s also got this very fun frill at the edge and it sparkles and shines as you move around. So, you know it’s full of drama.”

P.S. I am completely eyeing that unicorn cupcake and milkshake.

2. For the Boss Bride:

Spotted in a hot pink, matka silk, pant suit with 3D embellishments on it, is a look to die for. The outfit consists of a tiny bustier paired with well fitted pants and a jacket with shoulder pads on it.

I say it totes makes for a stunning sangeet or cocktail outfit, and will definitely make you stand out from the rest.

P.S Did you spot that broach on the pants that says bride?

3. The lehenga love:

This eclectic blue calf-length lehenga with a magnificent flare and reflective gold embellishments is a stunner.

It comprises of a calf length lehenga skirt with a gold belt paired with a short bustier and an embellished jacket. I totally like the idea to swap the dupatta for a jacket. How cool is that?

P.S it’s got pockets too!

4. The ivory jumpsuit:

This one’s my favourite – a bell-bottom Ivory matka-silk jumpsuit with some amazing embroidery with ribbons and rivets around it. This one is a definite stunner.

Loving the pop-of-colour with with the shades of pink on an all-ivory outfit.

Shubhika says, “apart from the work on it, it’s a very flattering look for all the body types, she claims to have had it tried on all body types.”

5. The dhoti saree:

Here’s looking at another Shubhika’s stunning design. This dhoti saree paired with a stunning embellished blouse is just amazing. The look is completed with a statement belt and golden stilettos, giving an edge to the whole look.

Q. Tell us a bit about the shoot?

  1. Well it was totally an unplanned shoot. I had just gone there for an event to be back in 5 days. Although, London was completely nostalgic as I’ve studied all about fashion there only and I couldn’t make myself come back without shooting my Papa Don’t Preach girl on the streets of London.

That was that, one thing led to another, 2-4 insta shoutouts and some power planning led to this Gorilla shoot which is now loved by all.

Well well. I am totally in love with all the looks here, what about you?
