Lacshish & Afreen Mumbai : A Yellow And Purple Themed Multi-Cultural Wedding Ceremony

Lacshish & Afreen Mumbai : A Yellow And Purple Themed Multi-Cultural Wedding Ceremony

Days before their wedding, Afreen said to Lachsish, “Let’s do a yellow and purple themed wedding!”  And from that moment till the big day, every arrangement was made to match the bright and peppy accents of the theme. From the bridesmaid, groomsmen to the flower girl and the ring bearer, everyone was dressed to match the unconventional theme.

Lachsish is half Catholic-half Hindu and Afreen hails from a conservative Muslim family. After a few initial hiccups, everyone agreed to their union and this made-for-each-other couple exchanged rings at Our Lady of Rosary Church, Mumbai. Talking about their wedding vows Afreen said, “We didn’t want to ruin the moment by reciting vows from a piece of paper, so we memorized and customized our wedding vows”. They also had a court marriage post their Church wedding and once again exchanged rings (Afreen bought two rings that she liked and thought it will be more meaningful exchanging them in the Hindu wedding.)

The couple’s reception was held at Bhavan’s College Tennis Ground Andheri, Mumbai. Lachsish says, “We wanted sassy yet elegant décor and also wanted to stick to the theme, and Ananthouse Creations gave us exactly what we expected”.  Wearing a classy ripped suit from Raymonds with glossy accents, he entered with Afreen – his hand locked in hers. They didn’t just dance but also sang together and performed their first dance. The chocolate almond and cashew wedding cake had musk icing and was decorated to match the theme as well.

Praising Sheldon Pereira’s photography, Afreen quotes, “For our pre-wedding photoshoot all of us trekked up till Kanheri Caves in Borivali’s National Park, while taking our pictures Sheldon even slipped and hurt himself, but it didn’t break his enthusiasm”. The most memorable part of the wedding day was when Afreen saw everyone happy, despite the religion and the cultural gap, with tears of happiness rolling down her cheeks, she said “ All's well that ends well.”

Now this is one wedding album that portrays the true essence of a multi-cultural union. See it to believe it.
