Prasanth & Deepika Mumbai : Shimmery South-Indian Wedding with Loads of Elegance

“Shimmer is the new black” was probably this gorgeous bride’s motto as she planned her wedding outfits. Right from the sangeet, to the wedding reception, every outfit worn by Deepika was a sight to behold. Truly.

Her fully sequined peach shimmer anarkali lehenga was the perfect translation of something a modern Indian bride would wear. With loosely curled hair and minimal bridal jewellery, Deepika looked oh-so-perfect! Prasanth too, wasn’t too far behind on the style factor either – he wore a stunning combination of black and blue with his ink blue chinese collared shirt and black Nehru jacket. A comfortable shift from a heavy sherwani or three-piece suit, this outfit is an ideal choice for a sangeet ceremony. After all, you do need to comfortable to do that signature Shah Rukh Khan hand gesture as “tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam” plays in the background!

The shimmer train continued on to the wedding ceremony too, but this time with a traditional twist. The stunning bride donned a chequered pure kanjivaram silk saree in a hue of the classic bridal red. Her Kempu jewellery and her bright smile added all the sweetness she needed to her entire ensemble. While Prasanth and Deepika’s wedding attires were all-out South Indian traditional, complete with the gold kinnari dhoti and all, their reception outfits were as classy as could be. The uber dapper groom, Prasanth went for a carbon black tux while Deepika wore a distinctive sea foam hued anarkali which was, you guessed it, beautifully shimmery!
