Shavin & Schweta Neemrana : A Tasteful Destination Wedding at the Beautiful Neemrana Fort
The moment we saw a glimpse of Schweta and Shavin’s wedding, we were sold! From the majestic Neemrana Fort to the couture, we loved it all! Let us take you through a tour of their lovely destination wedding-
About the Couple
Schweta and Shavin were destined to meet. Back in their university days in the UK, Schweta visited Warwick every year for a Mauritian society event. This was where Shavin attended university but he had never been a part of or heard of this event. So how did the two meet? Well, mutual friends played cupid!
They finally met on a February afternoon in a craft beer bar in Mauritius when both were finally settled back home. It took a few weeks to develop, and they kept meeting up with mutual friends, over hikes and dinners. Then Shavin finally made a fool of himself during a night out and asked Schweta out. Fortunately, he still remembered it the next day, and the rest is history!
The Wedding Festivities
The couple decided to host their wedding in India, in an ode to their heritage. They chose the regal Neemrana Fort as their venue. Over a course of four days, two families came together to celebrate the love and union of Schweta and Shavin!
The Welcome Lunch
As most of their guests were coming from abroad, the couple wanted to give them a warm welcome and make sure that they mingle with each other. Schweta says, “The welcome party was greeted with very traditional touches at the very entrance. We wanted our guests to feel that they were entering a bracket in time dedicated for the wedding. Everyone fully played into it, and we were honoured to feel that our guests had set aside 4 days of their lives just to be with us.”
The Sangeet
For the sangeet ceremony, Schweta wore a cobalt blue lehenga with intricate zardozi work and paired it with a cream, scalloped edge dupatta. Shavin complemented her in a navy blue bandhgala and cream pants. The sangeet was a fun affair where everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The guests loved the Mauritian dance rhythms on the dance floor that night.
The Wedding
The wedding ceremony was in the afternoon and began with the usual baraat shenanigans followed by the Jaimala ceremony on the top of the stairs leading to the Hawa Mahal. Shweta looked beautiful in a red and white Shyamala and Bhumika lehenga while Shavin wore an ivory sherwani. They witnessed a beautiful sunset during the wedding ceremony right in time for the lighting of the majestic lights of the Fort.
