Chaitanya & Shilpi Lonavala : Shilpi and Chaitanya’s intimate wedding will reaffirm your believe in love and togetherness!

Shilpi and Chaitanya got hitched in an intimate ceremony held at Lonavala. From a long distance relationship to a surprise proposal flashmob, these cuties have seen it all!

The Love Story

Shilpi and Chaitanya first met each other at the University of California, Berkeley. The two quickly became friends. One thing led to another and they have been together ever since! Due to their jobs they were in a long distance relationship for a year. Unable to stay apart from Shilpi, Chaitanya left his job and searched for one near Shilpi! Once when Shilpi was away on a holiday in Spain with her family, Chaitanya planned a big surprise for her! When she came back, she decided to meet her friends in her college. As she was walking down the campus roads, and all of a sudden, there was a flash mob of all her friends and family! Chaitanya came out last, bending on one knee, telling her how much he loved her, and asked her to marry him! Needless to say, she was on the moon!

The Wedding Festivities

The wedding was planned to take place in Lonavala while Shilpi and Chaitanya reside in the US. With lots of help from friends and family, they successfully planned a beautiful wedding! Many of their decisions regarding vendors were taken with the help of family and friends. Shilpi says, “We had also done a lot of stalking on Instagram and social media to find our photographers, decorators, and makeup artists. There is a lot of helpful content online!”

The biggest challenge for them was to plan a wedding that will take place in  India while staying in the US. They even made a few trips to make sure that all the details are sorted out. But overall, the process was generally smooth.

Chaitanya’s parents and Shilpi’s aunts and uncles were the biggest help for them!

The Sangeet Ceremony

The celebrations kicked off with a night full of dance. For their sangeet ceremony Shilpi was spotted in a shimmery golden lehenga while Chaitanya wore a contrasting navy blue sherwani. Their bridesmaids and groomsmen were dressed in matching outfits. The coordination was impeccable!

The Wedding

Decked in yellow silk saree, Shilpi looked beyond beautiful! Chaitanya wore a dhoti and wrapped a traditional shawl around his neck. A serene wedding ceremony united our love birds forever and ever!
