Shweta and Arjun, just got hitched in the most serene and beautiful wedding at Lakshmi Niwas Palace, Bikaner! From a mehndi ceremony that has gone viral to award winning photographs, this wedding has probably been the most beautiful and quirky wedding! Choosing the pff beat destinatio of Bikaner, the couple picked Lakshmi Niwas Palace for it’s perfect blend of classic nostalgia and outdoor luxury. From a quirky and quite Bollywood-esq mehendi, and colorful Sangeet function at Laxmi Niwas Palace, Bikaner the venue provided them with the atmosphere and look that suited the couple.

The Proposal

Arjun is a Jat from Meerut, and Shweta is a Maharashtrian. “We met through a common friend at a social gathering and instatly hit it off. It was then that Arju mentioned he was looking for a vintage Gramophone for his apartment” Shweta gifted him one and thus marked the beginning of their love story. 

Arjun and Shweta went on vacation to Paris and he popped the question on top of the Eiffel Tower — and she said yes!

The Mehndi

The mehendi function was held in the palace’s courtyard, and the entire ceiling was draped with golden yellow chiffon, enhanced by hundreds of marigold flowers floating on the draped chiffon ceiling above guests at Laxmi Niwas Palace, Bikaner. There were local folk artists such as kachi ghodi, ghoomer dancers, and a matki dancer who performed to the beats of the dholak which made the entire environment traditional and lively. Although the palace was alive with the sounds of laughter and color and dance, what we couldn’t get our eyes off of, was the bride’s quirky photos! This has to have been one of the happiest mehndi functios at Laxmi Niwas Palace, Bikaner

The Wedding

It was a wedding fit for royalty! Arjun & Shweta both wanted a regal wedding and had a number of palaces in mind. They wanted an intimate wedding in an offbeat location, which is how they came to choose Laxmi Niwas Palace in the city of Bikaner. 

With a guest list of 200 of their closest friends and family, it was the perfect destination wedding where each guest was personally catered to by The Wedding Designers team.
