5 Easy and extremely important skincare tips which every bride-to-be should note!

5 Easy and extremely important skincare tips which every bride-to-be should note!

Bridal makeup is heavy and can damage your skin to a great extent. For 5 days straight you are wearing foundation, highlighter, primer, eyeshadow, lipstick, etc etc. day and night! You may think your skin is ready for the sudden hit of makeup, but honey, it is not!

3 months prior to the wedding you need to follow a skin care routine that will ensure your skin is healthier and ready for the makeup slap! Scroll down to check some basic skin care tips that will go a long way to protect your skin and minimise the harsh after effects of bridal makeup!

1. Steaming hot, baby!

Steam is the first step in almost every skincare routine. Steaming helps in opening your pores which not only helps in cleaning them, but also makes your skin receptive to other treatments as clean pores absorb products better. Do not go overboard with the steam. Do it only once, maximum twice a week. Make sure the water is not hot enough to burn your skin!

2. Scrub ‘em away!

It is very very very important to exfoliate your skin twice a week in order to remove the dead skin, unclog pores from dirt and blackheads. Homemade scrub is your best bet and here are some easy peasy ones-

Orange scrub- just grind some dried peels and mix it with honey.

Coco-sugar scrub- mix a teaspoon of sugar with coconut oil.

Cinnamon scrub- mix a teaspoon of cinnamon with honey.

Coffee scrub- mix a teaspoon of coffee, sugar and a few drops of coconut oil till it forms a semi thick paste.

Rinse your face with water and pat dry. Proceed to apply the scrub and massage in circular motions for 7-8 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and don’t forget to moisturise after!

3. Pack em up!

After you’ve scrubbed and steamed your face, it is time for the face pack to step in the picture. Homemade face packs work the best and here are some of my favourite-

  1. A teaspoon of turmeric, raw milk and gram flour.
  2. A teaspoon of yogurt, honey and a pinch of turmeric.
  3. Mashed banana, rose water and milk.

If you don’t wish to while away time, you can always rely on this face clean up that I purchased from Amrutam. It has all essential ingredients such as almonds, aloe vera, kesar, etc. I absolutely love it and guarantee that you will too! Just apply it, massage in circular motion and wash it with lukewarm water after 20 minutes. Use it daily and you’ll feel like you have been blessed with new skin!

4. CTM

Clean, tone and moisturize. We often think it is not necessary to moisturize or tone your skin. But it is! Toners help to minimise pores and add an extra layer of protection to your skin. The best toner is rose water. Throw away those fancy pants ones that you own! Kids, moisturize unless you want dry skin!

5. Daily Essentials

Just follow two steps religiously and 50% of your care is already done! Apply SPF every morning even if you plan to stay indoors. SPF should be included in your morning routine like brushing your teeth is!

And at night apply aloevera gel every night before you hit the bed.

Bride or not, you HAVE TO follow these two extremely important and easy steps for a healthy skin!

These skin care tips are easy to follow and ensure healthy, glowing skin for your D-Day!
