5 Mistakes You Should Avoid on Your Honeymoon
Shaadi on the cards?
Are you excited?
I mean obviously, you are, DUH! But, what are you excited for more- wearing a 15kg lehenga, flaunting your dazzling jewellery, the never-ending rituals or the honeymoon which follows?
There, there. I won’t go all Ahem! Ahem! When I speak about your honeymoon. I know deep down you feel like escaping to your favourite location with your bae already and you two have probably spent sleepless nights fighting oops! (intentional slip of fingers aka tongue), planning your honeymoon from scratch. However, hang in there although I know you cannot keep calm :-P.
Now that there is so much excitement and planning attached to this much-awaited honeymoon, you don’t want anything to go wrong, do you? To avoid this, here are the most common mistakes you and your partner should avoid during your honeymoon:
1. Say NO to early morning flights!
I know you and your partner must be very excited for obvious reasons, I mean seeing a new place. No, wait, what were you guys thinking? (rolling my eyes). Leaving for your honeymoon the very next morning after your nuptials is not a very good idea. It can prove to be quite exhausting, especially if you plan on taking an early morning flight. A complete NO-NO if you are taking an international flight, owing to the jet lag.
2. Keep a check on the weather
Be well aware of the weather of the place you and your partner are about to visit. If it is too cold, equip yourselves with woolens. Going to a place with a relatively cool climate on your honeymoon sounds romantic, but you don’t want to be cooped up in your hotel room because it is freezing outside! Also, if it is a location where it rains too much, you’d rather choose a later date or probably change the location.
3. Don’t be engrossed into your phone
Folks, Instagram is going nowhere! Yes, it can wait!
Please, I repeat please, DO NOT do everything only for the sake of posting it on social media. I don’t mean you shouldn’t click pictures, but see to it you are not engrossed in your phone all the time.
The boomerangs can wait and yes, you don’t need to keep checking who has seen or liked your pictures or stories. This can also be a major turn off for your partner and you won’t end up enjoying some precious moments.
4. Be spontaneous, but also have a schedule
Rule Number 1 or 2 or whatever- have an itinerary!
Try and treat your honeymoon like any other vacation, which cannot be complete without a schedule. Especially if you and your partner are really eager for checking out new places, sight-seeing, and shopping, this is a must! However, don’t let the spontaneity die.
5. Do things that both of y’all enjoy
Just like marriage, a honeymoon also requires both partners to be happy. Don’t let it just be you or just your partner having all the fun. If you don’t like shopping, you could always make your partner aware of the same and come to a middle ground. Don’t try to isolate yourself on your honeymoon. Take part in the activities they like and vice versa.
Lastly, not that I have to remind you, but don’t forget some sexy lingerie 😉
