Yatin & Silvy Ludhiana : When love at first sight cliché turns into a dreamy reality!
When love at first sight cliché turns into a dreamy reality!
It was love at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight. – Vladimir Nabokov
An apt quote when it comes to realising that two people are in love and perhaps, this holds true in the case of this stunning couple – Silvy Mehta and Yatin Jain.
Some love stories begin even before the two people (struck by cupid) realise there is something special brewing between them. This was the case with Silvy and Yatin. They first crossed paths way back in school. Both went to the same school and shared the same school bus but never happened to have a conversation. Then in 2011, while Silvy was in the 9th grade and Yatin was in grade 11th, they both joined some extra classes. It was here when they first noticed each other. Probably it was love at first sight for both of them but they did not act on it. “Call it a cliché – love at first sight! But I knew in that first glance that there is something,” says Silvy. However, nothing really happened right away. Yatin, being the mischievous one would bug her a lot, cracking jokes and doing all sorts of antics. While he was doing all these things to get her attention and keep the conversation going, Silvy thought he did so as he did not like her. Over the next two years, they became really good friends. Yatin stood by her when she was going through a rough patch. And it was then they both realised their true feelings for each other. So, their love story truly began on the 8th of April 2014.
Sharing special moments
Both Silvy and Yatin were really devoted to each other. He never let a single chance go to make Silvy feel special and cherished. He thoroughly pampered her.
“The amount of effort and thought he put into everything just left me in awe. He used to plan my birthday surprises and our valentines from scratch on his own, from decor to food to music everything had a thought behind it and I still cannot figure out how he manages to do so. He’s inspired and motivated me to go out there and live my dreams. I feel like I’ve learned and grown so much as a person with him. He’s smart, funny, passionate and brings out the best in me. Above all, I feel so strong and free when I am with him so I guess it was clear that he was the one for me. He has always been the one for me.” – Silvy.
The Proposal
There was no real proposal as deep down both knew that they would marry each other. The only real question was ‘when’. For them, it was going to be an intercaste marriage as he is a Jain and she is a Punjabi. The thought of breaking the news to their respective families was a little scary but it had to be done and they both were ready to face the odds together.
“After putting in a lot of thought into it we decided to go for it. Fortunately for us, both our families agreed wholeheartedly. We had our roka in mid-September, post that we started planning our wedding and rest is history.” – Silvy.
The Wedding Ceremonies
Pre-wedding ceremonies
Being the eldest child and daughter of the family, Silvy’s wedding was the most awaited event for the entire family. “I wanted most of my functions to be held at our home since I wanted to take those memories along with me and I am so glad I did so,” says Silvy.
The prewedding functions started with the bangle ceremony along with the Radha-Krishna Raas Leela. For this ceremony, Silvy wore a beautiful light lehenga in a shade of mind with floral embroidery on it. She accessorised with beautiful matching floral jewellery by the Craft box by Riya Sapra and her shell bangles were done by Flair by Tanvi. For the mehendi and haldi ceremony, Silvy wanted something very colourful so they went with a yellow backdrop decorated with embroidered umbrellas, giving it a very desi look among other colourful décor elements.
The Engagement
For the engagement, the couple decided to have a minimal but dreamy pastel floral theme. Silvy looked like a dream in Rahul Kapoor Couture, wearing a lilac ensemble, a fitted-ruffled-flair skirt with an embroidered blouse with bell sleeves. A bold choice, she looked like a million bucks. On the other hand, Yatin matched her in a dapper tuxedo. They both looked like a million bucks!
The Wedding
For the wedding day, they went with classic décor that complemented their looks and made them the focus. So, they had huge bubble light chandeliers, white and red flowers adorned everything with touches of peach here and there. The whole venue was filled with white and red floral hangings, flowy red drapes, vintage gold frames and the bubble light chandeliers created an intimate romantic setting for the night.
As every aspect of their wedding was well-thought of, the couple stunned one and all with their choice wedding outfits too. As they had wanted to be the centre of attention, Silvy chose a brilliant royal blue lehenga embroidered with flowers and birds as her wedding ensemble. She completed her look with heavy polki jewellery and smokey eyes. And as for Yatin, never the one to be left behind, he looked amazing in cream-coloured embroidered sherwani with peach ascents.
Their wedding was a royal affair held at the Sona Grand Resort in Ludhiana on 9th February 2020.
